A dialogue for a low-carbon Europe
Rue Froissart 36
Technology and top-down political decisions are not enough if Europe wants to become a low-carbon society. Broad civil society participation is key to this transition. The European Commission has acknowledged that the governance process of the new Energy Union should “involve an energy dialogue with stakeholders to inform policy-making and support active engagement in managing the energy transition.”
On 18 November 2015 in Brussels, a meeting will be dedicated to this topic. Organized by R&Dialogue and E-TRACK, the full-day event will represent a big step towards establishing the dialogue that EU is wishing for. This will be made by allowing participants to bring new insights on how the energy transition in Europe can be accomplished. It will be a day of exchange and interactions with key Brussels stakeholders.
R&Dialogue is a consortium of 15 partners in 10 European countries, whose goal is to improve the dialogue on how to achieve a low-carbon society. The 'Energy - Transparency Centre of Knowledge' (E-TRACK) is a joint initiative agreed between the Directorate General for Energy (DG ENER)and the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission for the promotion of public participation in the implementation of energy policies.
