As you would know, ASSET (Action plan on Science in Society related issues in Epidemics and Total pandemics) is a four-year Mobilization and Mutual Learning Action Plan (MMLAP).
Pandemics and other major infectious disease outbreaks management require a multidisciplinary approach and the ASSET Summer School will focus on:
- Governance of pandemics;
- Unsolved scientific questions about epidemics and pandemics;
- Crisis participatory governance;
- Ethical, legal and societal implications of pandemics;
- Gender pattern – vulnerability;
- (Issues related to) intentionally caused outbreaks.
The ASSET Summer School aims at establishing an interactive learning space for researchers and practitioners in the field of Science in Society (SiS) related issues in Pandemics. It focuses on sharing and exchanging issues related to conducting and communicating research in SiS according to a multidisciplinary perspective, ranging from public health to social science and communication.
In particularly, attendants will be given the opportunity to present their own projects, activities or experiences developed in the field of interest.
The Summer School will take place in Rome at the National Institute of Health (ISS) from June 15 to 17, 2016
We invite you to circulate this communication within your working institution as well as in the professional networks or to colleagues who could be interested to participate (deadline for application: April 30, 2016).
